2009 Press Releases

Romarco Intercepts 32 Meters Of 4 G/T At Snake Haile Continues To Expand

September 1, 2009

ROMARCO MINERALS INC. (TSXV: R) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce recent assay results from the 2009 exploration program at the Haile Gold Mine, in South Carolina.

The drill results summarized in this announcement are from the area adjacent to the proposed Snake pit.  The results announced to date, including those announced today, have demonstrated the following:

1.     Snake continues to expand to the north and east.

2.     High grade Au (+5 g/t) previously known to exist at Ledbetter, has now been identified to the north and east of Snake.

3.     Drilling along the pit wall boundaries of the South Pit, Snake Pit and Ledbetter Pit have increased the probability of expanding the pits.

4.     Drilling between the Snake, Ledbetter, and South pits has identified mineralization which may reduce the over all strip ratio.

The drilling within the Snake area includes RC-1532, RC-1539, RC-1541, RC-1554, RC-1556, RC-1557, RC-1558, and RC-1561 as well as the previously released RC-1547.  Step-out drilling continues in this area and several holes have assays pending.  The assay results demonstrate that the extents of the mineralization at Snake are not bounded.  The upper zone of RC-1557 adds ounces within the designed pit, thereby decreasing the stripping ratio.  The gold grades encountered in the step-out drilling reflected the intercepts that they extend.  Highlights of the released holes are given in the table below.

The 2009 drill program consists of 85,000 meters (279,000 feet) of drilling with four rigs focused on a combination of step-out (to identify new resources) and infill (to convert resources into reserves) drilling.  To date, approximately 38,000 meters (124,670 feet) have been completed.  Assays have been received for 15,914 meters (52,210 feet) of the program and assays are pending for the remainder.  With four drill rigs on site, the current program is designed to identify additional resources and convert resources into proven and probable reserves across the entire mine property.

The current drilling is being performed by Boart Longyear and by Romarco’s company owned drill.  The drill samples are being assayed by Alaska Assay Labs in Fairbanks, AK and Inspectorate Labs in Sparks, NV.  Blank samples as well as third party standards were submitted with all of the drill holes. The results of the control samples were within acceptable ranges.  Romarco’s Qualified Person is Tom Kilbey, Sr. Geologist with the Company.

Romarco Minerals Inc. is a gold development company focused on production in the US and Mexico. The Company’s flagship project is the Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina which is currently undergoing exploration drilling, bankable feasibility study and permitting.
