Romarco Receives Permit, Schedules Drilling At Cori Puncho Gold Project, Peru

April 24, 2006

ROMARCO MINERALS INC. ("TSXV: R" - the "Company") and New Dimension Resources Ltd. (TSXV:NDR) are pleased to announce that the Peruvian Ministry of Mines has approved a Category C exploration permit that will allow the commencement of drilling at their Cori Puncho Project in southern Peru. A drill contract has been awarded to AK Drilling and the Phase I drill program, which will consist of 8 reverse circulation drill holes totalling approximately 1,200 meters, is scheduled to commence in early May.

The Cori Puncho property is centered over the CP Corridor, a major north-northwest trending structural zone that can be traced for over five kilometers. The southern end of the CP Corridor, which has never been drilled, is best exposed on CP Hill where gold mineralization is hosted by a sequence of tuffaceous sediments and volcanic breccia. Mineralization here is variably exposed on trend for approximately 300 meters and is seen in outcrop and prospect pits over a width of up to 100 meters. A 30-meter wide section on the west side of the mineralized zone (Main Shear) has the most consistent surface gold values and is the current project priority. Trench sample results from the Main Shear include 21 meters of 1.59 g/t gold, 15 meters of 2.25 g/t gold and four (4) meters of 7.8 g/t gold. Drill holes in this area will be angled to intersect the Main Shear at varying depths along a 250-meter segment of the structure.

Mineralization on CP Hill can be projected under cover in both strike directions, and a second target zone scheduled for drilling lies approximately 700 meters to the north of CP Hill across a small overburden covered valley. The area, called CP North, is highly anomalous in gold on surface and is the obvious projection of CP Hill mineralization along the CP Corridor. This target area and the covered valley between it and CP Hill are considered to have excellent exploration potential.

The road accessible project is situated in southern Peru within 15 kilometres of a paved highway and a 1.5 hour drive from the large community of Juliaca. The equal joint venture between Romarco and NDR is operated by NDR through Camino Ventures S.A.C., its Lima based subsidiary, and all drilling and sampling will be supervised by Camino geologists. Drill cuttings will be sampled on one to two metre intervals and transported by Company staff to Juliaca for direct shipping to ALS Chemex Laboratories in Lima, where samples are prepared. Analysis for gold will be performed in Lima and the pulps then sent to their Vancouver facility for multi-element ICP analysis. The Company routinely utilizes a system of standards and sample checks as part of their quality control procedures. The project is under the supervision of Mr. Thomas H. Burkhart, Vice President, Exploration for NDR, who is a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. Romarco's Qualified Person on the project is Dr. Tommy Thompson, VP, Exploration for Romarco.
