Romarco Outlines Four Drill Programs

May 2, 2006

ROMARCO MINERALS INC. ("TSXV: R" - the "Company") is pleased to announce that this will be the first year in which Romarco will be conducting drill programs on four of its projects. Until now, Romarco has been conducting mapping and soil sampling programs and identifying drill targets.

Beginning the first week of May and continuing throughout the year, Romarco will have four drill programs underway. In order of drilling, these projects are:

Cori Puncho Gold Project, Peru (50%)

Drilling will begin the first week of May and an initial ten holes totalling 1200 metres have been initially planned. The Joint Venture (with New Dimension Resources Ltd.) will be testing the main shear zone which is currently being mined by local "informales" or small miners on surface. The drill program will be determining the depth and width of the shear zone. Surface trenching by the JV returned gold values of up 2 g/t on surface. Romarco's Qualified Person on this project is Dr. Tommy Thompson, VP Exploration for Romarco.

Roberts Mountains Gold Project, Nevada - Cortez (100%)

In mid-May, Romarco will begin drilling its Cortez project. This project returned encouraging results from its mapping and soil sampling program in 2005. The contact between the Webb and Devils Gate Formations was mapped across the width of this property - the contact which is known to be the productive zone for other gold deposits in this area and along the Battle Mountain-Cortez gold trend. A soil geochemistry program returned significant results that included a 0.030 g/t gold contour value that outlined a zone over 915 metres long (northwest-southeast) and up to 530 metres wide Surface rock samples within this broad soil anomaly returned values grading up to 1.25 g/t gold. Romarco will be drilling approximately ten holes along the contact between the Webb and Devils Gate Formations. Mr. Buster Hunsaker is Romarco's Qualified Person on the project.

Buckskin-National Gold Project, Nevada (100%)

Depending on snow melt Romarco intends to drill this project in late June or early July. Romarco drilled Buckskin-National for the first time last year and identified a multiple-vein epithermal system. Romarco also intersected the down-dip extension of the Bell Vein - a past producing high grade vein that had historically only been mined down to the 122 metre level in some places. Romarco intersected the vein approximately 335 metres below surface. Romarco's Qualified Person on this project is Dr. Tommy Thompson, VP Exploration for Romarco.

Pine Grove Gold Project, Nevada (60%)

Romarco drilled an initial four holes in the project early in 2006 and has final assay results pending. During the third quarter of 2006 Romarco intends to follow up on the just completed drilling and also drill the other main target, in and around the historic high grade Rockland Mine. Romarco's Qualified Person on the project is Mr. Mark Reischman.
