Romarco Intercepts More Gold at Hog Ranch

July 6, 2004

ROMARCO MINERALS INC. ("TSXV: R" - the "Company") announces today that it has completed its Phase II drilling program on the Hog Ranch Project, and recently received all of the assay results from the six core holes drilled during the program. Romarco is pleased with the results of the program as all of the 6 holes encountered significant or strongly anomalous gold mineralization.

The highlight of the program is a 5' (1.5m) intercept in Drill Hole HR 04-6 that assayed 0.446 oz/ton (15.3 g/t). This intercept was included in a 25' (7.6m) intercept that averaged 0.118 oz/ton gold (4.05 g/t). Drill Hole HR 04-6 was drilled in the Geib Pit and tested a separate and distinct target from the high grade intercepted in HR 04-3 which was drilled in February, 2004 located mid-way between the Krista and Geib Pits. HR 04-3 returned two 5' (1.5m) high grade intercepts, assaying 0.837 oz/ton (28.7 g/t) and 0.502 oz/ton (17.2 g/t) gold respectively, that are contained within a 70' (21.3 m) intercept that averages 0.152 oz/ton (5.23 g/t) gold. Additionally, numerous broad zones of lower grade gold mineralization were intersected during the Phase II drilling program. As an example, Drill Hole HR 04-9 which was drilled to the north of HR 04-3, intercepted 35' (10.7 m) of 0.032 opt (1.08 g/t) and a separate interval of 85' (25.9 m) of 0.012 opt (0.42 g/t).

The results from this program continue to support Romarco's belief that Hog Ranch exhibits excellent discovery potential for both underground minable bonanza deposits, and lower grade deposits minable by open pit methods. For maps of the property area, please visit the Hog Ranch Technical Report filed on SEDAR and on Romarco's website.

The Phase II drilling program consisted of a total of 4586.5 feet (1398m) in six diamond drill core holes. The purpose of the program was to begin testing bonanza gold vein targets below and around the previously mined Geib and Krista Pits, and try to expand on the significant mineralization encountered in Romarco Drill Hole HR 04-3.

Dynatec Drilling Inc. was contracted to perform the drilling, and Romarco consultant William W. Walker supervised the program and logged, split and sampled the core. Analytical work on the drill samples was performed by ALS Chemex. Romarco's Qualified Person on the Hog Ranch Project is Mr. Robert M. Hatch, Vice President, Exploration for Romarco Minerals.

Hog Ranch Project

Hog Ranch, which is located in Washoe County, Nevada, yielded approximately 200,000 ounces (6.22 t) of gold during open pit, heap leach mining operations conducted between 1987 and 1994. Geologically, Hog Ranch is a large volcanic-hosted gold/silver district where local zones of high-grade gold, comprised of banded quartz-adularia veins containing free gold, were found during the exploration for, and mining of, generally lower grade, near-surface disseminated and breccia ore bodies. Romarco believes that these local high-grade veins indicate the potential for bonanza quartz-adularia veins occurring at greater depth than the previously mined deposits. It is interpreted that such hypothesized veins would be the hydrothermal "feeders" to the near-surface gold deposits.

Romarco has an option with Seabridge Gold Inc. to earn a 60% interest (65% under certain conditions) in the Hog Ranch Project. With the completion of this drilling program, Romarco has satisfied it's 2004 work expenditure requirement under the option agreement with Seabridge.

Future Exploration Work at Hog Ranch

Romarco's technical team will now compile and interpret all Hog Ranch drilling data collected to date. Additionally, detailed structural data will be collected from exposures in the Geib Pit and from the limited other exposures in the North Mine area (all pits except Geib have been backfilled or otherwise reclaimed). This structural data will help determine the structural fabric of the mine area, and thus give additional insight into the geometry of hypothesized high grade feeder zones and lower grade near-surface deposits. It is anticipated that follow-up drilling in the Geib-Krista area will be initiated during late 2004 early 2005 (subject to permitting, weather, and drill rig availability). Additionally, numerous additional target areas exist at Hog Ranch, and these will be addressed during 2005.
